For our own detached office we chose to pursue all of the challenges and opportunities of designing and building our own space to build a case study ADU (accessory dwelling unit). We focused on creating a unique space using affordable materials that would be energy efficient and comfortable, all while reducing carbon impact.

    Techniques we used were advanced framing, all exterior insulation (perfect wall assembly), rain screen construction, careful air sealing, and honest construction that allows each material and technique to express itself.
